Notice I omitted the author's name, Guy Gavriel Kay. I think you might enjoy his books if you like fantasy.
Regards

Oh, oh. I can see that all the books you've read are unread on my list. I'm not a SF or Fantasy fan, although my husband and two children are. I've actually bought the complete set of DVDs of Lord of the Rings for my son who turns 45 this week!
Back to the books. I'm going to recommend two books on the list for you to consider.
1. The Kite Runner which is about a boy in Afghanistan who later flees to the USA with his parents and the life they live there. The author is a physician who had a similar experience. IMHO it's an important book since so many countries have armies there fighting and it helps to get a feel for the people. Number 42 on the list.
2. The second recommendation is an author of fantasy of whom you may not be aware. Number 76, The Summer Tree is by a Canadian author who has written probably about 12 or so books. This book is his first, and the first of a trilogy. He has several stand alones and another series beginning with Sailing to Sarantium. His latest out, which I just gave to my husband recently is called Ysabel. My husband said it wasn't his best but he has always liked the Sailing to Sarantium series and right this minute is upstairs rereading The Summer Tree.
I'm going to post this meme soon, although I'm trying not to talk about books all the time.
Regards

Hi Sarabeth,
I have only read the Wizard's First Rule, and that seems an eternity ago. I'm not sure why I never read any of the others, I must have lost track of him. Having just looked at his site, I can see that I have some catching up to do.
Thanks for your comment.

I've definitely read more sci-fi and fantasy than are on this list. You're the first person I've seen who has also read Terry Goodkind's works. I've read all of them, and I wonder if he can ever wrap up his storyline.
