Hey ian.

Looks like all the teachers round here are on strike. Though it certainly isn't the best day for it - heavy rain all day!

In any case, i certainly hope this issue is resolved soon.

Hi Gary,

How's Florida treating you?

What with us breaking the weather and returning to the strike mentality of the 70's and 80's, it makes you wonder what the future holds. I'm sure its nowhere near as bad as I paint it, but it does make you wonder.

Regards,
Ian

Hi Ian,

Yeah, that really is a text book underhanded tactic. I keep seeing more reasons to stay away from the UK, and more than ever I will be tempted to home-school my kids when the time arrives.

Britain seems to have found the most efficient way to keep the middle classes down from every angle, and I guess that is why we are starting an exodus out of the country. I hope there comes a point where the government realises that the country is actually built upon the labours of the middle class and starts to treat us more even-handedly... they can't tax business any more than they do or they will trade in a more profitable country, the rich will simply leave if they find England too expensive, and they can't tax the poor because they have no money. Who will pay the teachers wages when the middle classes have shrunk much (either by being forced into poverty by hostile government policy, or else getting out while they can still afford to) that there is no money left in the budget for education?

Cheers,
    Gary
