Celebration Day

OK, this should have been posted on Thursday, so I’m not really doing well at keeping up to date.

The company I work for has recently split from its larger conglomarate and on Wednesday morning was listed on the NYSE.

On Thursday, the company laid on a BBQ at lunchtime and then arranged an afternoon of team games with a pub game theme as part of the global celebrations. It was great fun, even if our team didn’t do particularly well. It’s not often you get paid to spend the afternoon playing.

I hope you’ve got stock options as part of your compensation and it really takes off.

    Ditto what JMB said.
I’m glad you got to play on a work day :) It was the same day that I spent biting my nails about the fate of my poor laptop.

    Hi jmb,
Sorry for the late response, my comments system notifications seem to go AWOL on occasions and I didn’t know you had commented until Vijay referenced it.
I do have stock options, but unfortunately they aren’t worth anything at the moment as the stock price went into freefall about 5 years ago. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4105628.stm
There have been many changes over the years since, with the latest being the separation of the Electronics and Healthcare businesses into independant companies. This is a new beginning with great prospects.

    Hi Vijay,
It did seem very strange playing games like darts and table football and skittles at work in the canteen.
I hope you still had some fingers left when you got your laptop back. I won’t tempt fate by making any comments about coffee and computers, as I’m sure it would only come back to haunt me.
    Regards,
    Ian

Yes, there have been a lot of changes. There is no chance of that now.
