The school have subscribed to a shopping portal. They get a percentage of all transactions through it. It is at www.itallhelps.com/watling. Hopefully it will raise some useful funds.
While checking some information that I was putting in an email to New Zealand, I happened to look on the Ancestry website. They now have the 1861 Census on line. I have already spent several hours looking and finding my ancestors. Must stop and go to bed now, or I will spend half the night looking.
I replaced the power supply and the computer started. That was a relief. I need to investigate an error message I get on shutdown, but other than that all systems go again.
I had an email this morning from a second cousin once removed in New Zealand that I didn’t know I had. He had details of a branch of my tree that it didn’t have to much on. Asking at the moment if I can include his information into my database.
We added half a dozen platies to the tank today to keep the zebra danios company. We’ll give it another 2 or 3 weeks and then get some more fish.
The service that I use to feed my headlines to my main website, Feed Digest, had a slight problem yesterday. This is causing it to recrawl the rss feeds, as a result, the most recent headline on my homepage is from 6th August. Hopefully this will sort itself out soon.
A bonus however, is the script that has been developed to allow me to cache their feed locally on my website and not be dependant on the Feed Digest server.
Edit: The feed sorted itself out later in the evening and is now correctly displaying the current news.
