A few weeks ago, following the demise of our last tropical fish, we gave the tank a thorough clean. Today we have just added half a dozen Zebra Danios, we’ll see how they are in a couple of weeks and then start increasing the population.
New hard disc
I realised that I was running out of disc space for my pictures and audio files, so Tuesday I bought a 120GB drive to increase the storage on that computer. It arrived today, and is now installed, formatted and working. I’m now busy moving files from one partition to another. All I have left to do now is work out how I’m going to backup all the additional space!
Development website
I have been experimenting with some different ideas for menu structure and formatting on the test website.
The main school site is still here www.watlinglower.org.uk
Unread emails
Spent some time this evening catching up on my unread emails from the geneology mailing lists. They build up quick when you take your eye off them. I’m now down to 120 unread.
Finally got the MOT cert
Rang the garage today to get the expiry date on the MOT changed. It’s sort of right, the written expiry is right, but the bracketed year is wrong. I have been assured by the MOT station that this is not a problem. I guess I’ll find out when I tax it in Feb.
Bad Car Day
Car was booked in for MOT retest and replacement of brake fluid. Brake fluid was due to be replaced the previous week, but the main dealer didn’t have any. Booking and collection for today were arranged following this visit. This morning, at 11.30, I rang the dealer to find out if my car was being picked up.
There was no record that this had been arranged. At 12.15, the driver collected my car. As with the previous week, the unexpired MOT was left in the glovebox and the driver informed of this.
At 5pm, I rang to find out when I would get my car back. It had passed the MOT and I paid for the brake fluid change. When the driver got back to the garage, he would deliver my car back to my work. I finally got my car back at 5.45pm.
Later this evening, I discovered that the MOT was dated to expire in a year, and on looking in the car found the old MOT certificate still in the glovebox.
Maybe I’ll see if I get a better service at one of the other branches in Hemel or Luton.
